The title «namoW»—an inversion of the word "Woman"—reinterprets and deconstructs the feminine image in our consumerist era.

In the video, the sound of Shakespeare’s famous soliloquy, "Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?", plays in its usual chronological order, evoking the continuity and timelessness of the classic. In contrast, the narration of a dream is played in reverse, creating a temporal discontinuity that disrupts traditional perception. This technical choice highlights how women are subjected to a dual gaze:

  • On one hand, they are placed in the voyeuristic field of vision, where their image is constantly distorted—fragmented and elusive when standing—symbolizing the instability and ephemerality of their public representation.

  • On the other hand, when lying down, their image appears sharp and undeniable, evoking an authentic and intimate identity.

The use of glitchy effects inspired by old televisions intensifies this duality, evoking nostalgia for a bygone era while critiquing the transformation and alienation of women in contemporary society.
