In China, red candles bring good luck. They are also used a lot at weddings to wish the bride and groom happiness.
With two red candles stuck together, burning, I want to represent a destiny that will not change, and the mutual influence of the people who form the intimate relationship. As an existence for our loved ones (as much as our loved ones are existences for us), we are a consumption and a diminution of energy, time, life.

 

In this video I have tried to inject my grief, helplessness and resentment at the injustice of womanhood after seeing my mother's situation into the candles that I feel represent how I feel, and I have let them express all my pain for me.
