Falling Leaves grew out of the uncertainty I experienced when deciding whether to remain abroad or return to China after studying in both countries. Rather than comparing two educational systems, the film examines the standards already present within that decision.

Through my own experience, it considers how ideas of success, family expectations, and cultural experience continue to shape a choice that appears personal and immediate.
